šŸ  What isĀ Shelterz

Shelterz is a mobile app that will aggregate all animal shelters, and rescue organizations in one place and enable the users to adopt and sponsor the animals.

šŸ‹ļø The Challenge

A pet that can be a stray, abandoned, injured, or been a victim of animal cruelty if it’s lucky gets taken in by an animal shelter. Animal shelter needs to take care of the pet till it gets adopted. If the animal doesn’t get adopted till its prime or if it becomes old, gets taken down. We set out to make a platform that would connect the users with animal shelters and the animals in need.

ā“ The Problem

India has 80 million homeless dogs and cats that are living in shelters or on the streets. With the need for adoption, we also need people who can sponsor the animals in shelters, and rescue organizations to keep the animals from getting euthanized or abandoned. Every animal can be helped in one way or the other. But there is no suitable platform for people to adopt and sponsor the animals in need.

To not get trapped in the research oblivion and to get a structured approach for our research we framed some questions

As we know mostly adoption is not a very regular thing that a person does. So according to our hypothesis sponsorship is something that can engage the users and attract them to use this product at least once a month.

A user will only switch to its existing product if the new one provides a good user experience. Currently there is no product in the INDIAN market that is aggregating all animal shelters and provides a seamless method for donation and adoption.
